Broadcast Journalism | Corporate Communications
My experience in broadcast journalism began in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 2002, where I worked as a production assistant, associate producer, and a news reporter at WDAZ-TV.
I am a very proud Fighting Sioux alumna and hockey fan having graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Dakota in 2007.
After graduation, I moved to Boise, Idaho where I began my career at KTVB. There, I produced the Midday News at Noon, News at Six, Today’s Morning News, and was promoted to oversee KTVB.COM in 2010.
I was honored with an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for my work on Today’s Morning News in 2008. I have also received three additional Emmy nominations, and a first place Idaho Press Club award for best multimedia reporting. In the two years I worked as senior digital content producer for KTVB.COM, the digital team was honored with two national Edward R. Murrow awards (2010, 2011).
In April 2012, I moved to Memphis to oversee the digital department at WMC Action News 5. As one of Raycom Media’s first digital department heads, I was responsible for breaking news on WMC’s digital platforms, streaming live events, publishing compelling content for our social media audiences, as well as defining what a TV station’s newsroom should look like in this ever-changing digital age.
As I marked exactly 15 years in the TV news business in October 2017, I decided to kick off a new adventure and try something new. I decided to stay in Memphis, a city that I’ve grown to love, but I’m now enthusiastically navigating the world of corporate communications at FedEx’s headquarters.
